About Shine On

A soft, glossy coat is one of the first things people notice about a dog, and in the senior years skin and coat can use a little more care: a duller coat, more shedding, drier paw pads in winter.

Shine On covers both sides. Omega-3 fish oil chews support healthy skin and a soft coat from the inside; gentle grooming takes care of the outside, with an oatmeal and aloe shampoo, a protective paw balm and a self-cleaning slicker brush.

A short brush a few times a week is also your chance to check them over for lumps, bumps or sore spots worth showing your vet. Bathe only as often as needed, wipe paws after salty winter walks, and follow the label for chews.

How to choose

  • Double-coated breed? The slicker brush makes shedding season easier.
  • Winter walks on salted sidewalks? Paw balm before you go, a wipe when you're back.
  • Support from the inside? Omega-3 chews, following the label.

Good questions

How often should I bathe an older dog?

Usually every few weeks, or when they're dirty; bathing too often can dry the skin. Use a gentle dog shampoo and dry them well afterwards.

How often should I brush a senior dog?

A few minutes a few times a week suits most coats. Double coats need more in shedding season.

Are omega-3 chews the same as fish oil?

Our omega-3 chews are made with fish oil in a soft chew, which many dogs find easier than a liquid. Follow the label for amounts.
